Ben Maestas of Lewis County Permaculture Society asked: Who would be interested in getting together for a class on mapping your land for Permaculture design?
We can go over what to include in the map and how to use that map in planning.
It would be a two day event. After learning, participants would be expected to go home and make a map of their land which we will go over, as a group, the following week.
End of February- beginning of March maybe...
If interested let me know when sounds available for you.
Thanks
Ben

Health Corner: Flu Prevention & Treatment
This year’s flu outbreak is, by all accounts, the worst most people can recall, deadly in a few cases. Everyone knows the basics - vaccinations, lots of hand washing, reducing exposure, plenty of rest and liquids, etc.
Here are some simple (and cheap) remedies recommended by experts & moms:
- Flat cola sipped ever so slowly, halts nausea, reduces headache; 12oz/6 hrs*
- Airborne OTC at the first tickle in your throat (Thanks to Daniel Finney)
- Type “flu” in search field @ mindbodygreen for kitchen-based & natural remedies
What cures have you tried, tested and adopted?
*A long-retired hospital nurse cured me with flat cola when I was unable to keep down soda crackers or even water for 3 days, despite my futile clinic visit. The same remedy worked a couple years back for a visitor who tried all the pharmaceutical potions without relief. Somehow it breaks whatever cycle triggers repeated vomiting, restores much-need salt (sodium), blood sugar levels, and for daily coffee drinkers, a bit of caffeine to reduce the headache from abrupt withdrawal.
Remember, I’m NOT a doctor and certainly not worth suing. Sharing what works for me and others is offered strictly as take-it-or-leave-it. As always, YMMV.
