Toledo Fire Department engaged in a practice burn Saturday on Jackson Hwy South. Lewis County Fire District 2 offers training and classes for firefighters including 16 and 17 year olds (junior members) with weekly drills 7 p.m. Monday.

Volunteers urgently needed now. Applications may be downloaded from website.

Recap: Artist/Illustrator Christine Chappell demonstrated her tips and techniques Friday afternoon to a mother and daughter at Gallery 505 Artists Co-op in An Intro To Colored Pencil. Asked if Chappell might be offering this free class again in the near future, she indicated she might consider it.

Gallery 505 open 1-5 p.m Tuesday through Saturday.

Get out of the house! Washington Trails Association is accepting applications for 2017 Youth Volunteer Vacations, and offers a limited number of scholarships. Day work party opportunities also available.

And: Toledo School District hosts Bond Information Night 7 - 9 p.m. at the High School. (This will be a) presentation about the process that was used to evaluate facilities, determine projects, estimate costs and arrive at the current bond measure. (Superintendent) Chris Rust will be on hand to answer questions. This is an opportunity for our community to discuss the bond and facility upgrades.
