From Mashable: Remember Spectre and Meltdown?
Thankfully, Intel offered up a partial fix — so all good, right? Well, not exactly. It turns out the patch that was issued by Intel has a few problems of its own, things are so busted that the company is telling some of its customers to avoid the official patch altogether.
CNET explained: (Intel) told manufacturers and users to "stop deployment of current versions, as they may introduce higher than expected reboots and other unpredictable system behavior," said Intel Executive Vice President Navin Shenoy. "I assure you we are working around the clock to ensure we are addressing these issues."
