Toledo School District: Save The Dates - Special Board Meetings
TES PTO: Ballots Are Out
Ballots are out. Toledo Schools have a replacement levy on the ballot. Please take a minute to learn about what you are voting for. It is important to know that the district has actually reduced the cost of this levy! Last year you paid $2.17 per $1,000 of assessed value and this proposed levy is only $1.50 per $1,000. That means with the bond passing and this levy you will only pay 8 cents more per $1,000 of assessed value!!! What a deal for a new school and levy!!
We appreciate your YES vote!

FoodSafetyNews.com: Letter From The Editor
Food safety’s haphazard structure may have helped during shutdown
If you had a nickel for every study recommending consolidation of all federal food safety agencies into a single independent entity, you would have a lot of nickels.
Food safety’s current structure sure isn’t pretty and almost no one says it’s the organization they’d design if doing it from scratch today.
During the partial government shutdown, the White House resubmitted the nomination of Dr. Mindy Brashears as Under Secretary of Agriculture for Food Safety. It is the highest food safety job in the federal government, and our beautiful politicians with all their bipartisan skill have managed to let the job go vacant for more than five years...

Washington State Governor: Inslee declares local public health emergency after identifying outbreak of measles - January 25, 2019
Gov. Jay Inslee declared a state of emergency today in all counties in response to more than two dozen confirmed cases of measles in our state.
“Measles is a highly contagious infectious disease that can be fatal in small children,” Inslee stated in his proclamation. “The existence of 26 confirmed cases in the state of Washington creates an extreme public health risk that may quickly spread to other counties.”
A current statewide case count for the measles outbreak is available on DOH’s website and will be updated daily. As of yesterday, there are 25 confirmed cases in Clark County and one confirmed case in King County. You can find additional details on exposure sites on the Public Health — Seattle & King County and Clark County Public Health websites.
