Toledo School District reminder:
It’s time to renew the district's Educational Programs and Operations levy. This levy helps support all programs and provides all athletic and extracurricular programs. This levy is a decrease of 67 cents per $1000 compared to the existing levy. This means that your total tax rate for schools with the new bond will be 8 cents per $1000 more that it was in 2018.

Remember, the bond can only pay for the new high school. Levies support all of the activities and people in the district. Ballots are in your mailbox now. Please take a moment and vote.

The caterpillar phase is the time when gypsy moths damage trees and shrubs. In 2016, the damage was so bad in New England it could be seen from space! And last year, Rhode Island reported that 1/4 of the state's hardwood trees died in large part due to gypsy moth infestations.

Commissioner of Public Lands Hilary Franz wrote:

Meeting Daniel Lyon was one of the most moving days of my life. After being severely injured in the tragic 2015 Twisp River Fire, he now advocates for better training for our wildland firefighters.

Video link here.

He’s right. We owe our firefighters the resources they need to be safe when they put their lives on the line. Thank you, Daniel, for your service to Washington. And thank you for your support of my $55 million legislative ask that includes funding to hire full-time training personnel.
