*Toledo schools will be in session on all snow make up days on the calendar. Thursday & Friday, March 2 and 3, will be make-up days AND 2-hour late start for ACT (Academic Collaborative Time). Additionally, 15 minutes will be added at the end of each school day beginning March 7, 2017 to help balance time lost to weather-related closures.
Revisions to the 2016-2017 school district calendar, including snow make-up days and more, were posted over the weekend.

Toledo School District held a special meeting last Friday to complete an annual Superintendent Evaluation. The Board of Directors weighed in individually, then as a body, on each of four categories* while Superintendent Chris Rust provided a self-evaluation for each. Finally, the categories were combined in an overall evaluation rating.
The four categories* were Visionary Leadership, Inclusive Practice, Ethical Leadership, and Socio-Political Context. Standards were set down for each category. Ratings were listed as unsatisfactory, basic, proficient, or distinguished.
***
None of the categories were rated unsatisfactory by either, and both the Board and Superintendent Rust summarized the overall rating as Proficient, interpreted as leaving room to continually raise the bar.
Toledo School Board meets 7 third Thursdays monthly at Toledo Middle School. To sign up for notice of regular and special board meetings by email, contact Mandy, mkruger@toledoschools.us. Agendas & documents available online.

Press Release
Toledo School District Sponsors Senior Tax Exemption Workshops
Toledo School District will sponsor a workshop on Monday, March 13, 2017 and again on Thursday, March 15, 2017 at 6 p.m. in the Library at Toledo High School.
These workshops will focus on assisting seniors and disabled persons to evaluate their eligibility for exemption from property taxes. Lewis County Assessor, Dianne Dorey will be on hand to provide information about the qualifications and application process. Applications will not be accepted during the workshop but information about the documents needed to apply will also be presented. Seniors over age 60 who meet income and ownership qualifications or citizens who are disabled and meet specific qualifications may be eligible for an exemption.
The workshops are free to the public. The same information will be provided at both workshops and citizens are welcome to attend either or both.
For more information on the program go to:
