Washington State Department of Agriculture shared: The Monarch & The Moth
One question we get about our gypsy moth eradication is how it will impact monarch butterflies. Check out this blog post to learn more! (Spoiler alert - it doesn't.) #GypsyMothMonday
Excerpt: Both because of the low numbers of monarchs that migrate to Washington and because their life cycle differs from the gypsy moth, WSDA’s gypsy moth treatments will not affect monarch populations. Visit agr.wa.gov/gypsymoth to learn more about the gypsy moth threat and WSDA’s work to protect our environment.
