Common Ground Toledo met last night to discuss downtown planters, pocket & landscape gardens throughout the city, and the business side of things.
Ready for planting

One year after Gary Whiteside asked permission to gardenscape a tiny wedge of overlooked soil at Toledo’s Post Office, CGT is on its way to a city-wide revitalization including downtown planters, the Oregon Trail Marker, and the Memorial Garden adjacent to the Wall of Honor in Kemp Olson Park.

Volunteers welcome to join spontaneous improvement projects like last week’s flash mob weed-pulling at the City Park, and tree planter rehabilitation near the boat launch. Monthly meetings open to interested green thumb types.

Health Corner: Blood Tests, High Blood Pressure, and Testosterone Levels

Doctors routinely send patients for tests to narrow the possibilities, to confirm the signs and symptoms, and to cover their collective carcasses. Former professional marathoner & triathlete Mark Sisson of Mark’s Daily Apple speaks out on 3 commonly recommended blood tests. You might be surprised. Popular Blood Tests—the Facts, Ranges, and Alternatives You Should Know.

Functional Medicine Practitioner Chris Kresser shares his research on Nutrients for Lowering Blood Pressure and addresses how prescribing guidelines have changed since HBP drugs first came onto the scene decades ago.

Finally, a controversial claim: Science Daily quotes this study that establishes a correlation between high testosterone levels and impulsive decisions, saying: A recent study found that when men have high levels of testosterone, they're more likely to rely on their gut feelings than actual information when making a decision. They're also less likely to realize when they're wrong.

Hey, I’m just the messenger.
