Toledo School District posted:
In today's world, we have to consider situations that we never would have imagined could take place at school. Toledo staff have been trained in a procedure designed to increase survival in the event of an active shooter at school. Following the advice of Lewis County Sheriff's Office, FEMA and Homeland Security, we chose the ALICE program. ALICE stands for "Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate".
We will have a parent information night 7 PM May 24 at Toledo High School to present the components of ALICE prior to training students next Fall. THS counselor Katie Gale is also our ALICE trainer. She will be on hand to share the important aspects of this program and to answer questions. We hope that you'll take this opportunity to learn about how we plan and train to respond to the unthinkable and how we'll keep our students safe.
