NIH: May 14, 2019 - Blood test may detect myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome
Researchers developed a blood test that, in a pilot study, accurately identified people with myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome.
Wednesday, May 8, 2019 - Emergency treatment guidelines improve survival of people with severe head injury
NIH-funded study shows protocol may help people with severe traumatic brain injury.
The results... revealed that the guidelines helped double the survival rate of people with severe TBI and triple the survival rate in severe TBI patients who had to have a breathing tube inserted by EMS personnel.

Not Strictly Toledo: Hazo Hut and the Swap Shack at the Central Transfer Station in Centralia are open Saturday until 4 p.m. to accept your leftover or unwanted household hazardous waste and burned out fluorescent lights. The Swap Shack is the place you can pick up good re-usable paint or cleaning products. Both facilities are open every Wednesday and the first and third Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

When: Noon and 2 p.m. Saturday, the 39th anniversary of the May 18, 1980, eruption. Each talk will be followed by a book signing, with copies of Holmes’ book available for purchase.
Where: Johnston Ridge Observatory, at the end of Spirit Lake Highway (state Highway 504), 52 miles east of Castle Rock.
Cost: Free. The observatory usually charges $8 for admission but waives the fee on the eruption’s anniversary.
