Hey, Common Grounds! Are you ready for THIS?
Long-time Toledo column sponsor Gee Cee’s Truck Stop, family owned and one of the last indie operations on I-5, has been my home base this week as I pen these Daily Columns. An early morning arrival revealed a lone figure hard at work revitalizing the rockery and corner garden beneath the lighted signboard, evenings remarkable progress.
With Common Grounds, Steamboat Alley, Veterans Wall of Honor and other projects transforming patchwork plots and neglected throughways around Toledo, only my daily commute brought this little gem to my attention.
Says Rachel: This Garden is for you, Grandpa.
Gee Cee’s will feature some of the Historical Society’s vintage prints throughout their restaurant soon, according to my inside source. Watch for updates.
Linda Bird-Sonne of Common Grounds says:
Hello all! Let me know who's up for some roll'n and rock'n activity today. Meet 10 a.m. at the Post Office to lay some landscape cloth and the river rock for the start of the garden design.

Nana grew-up in England and met Grandpa during WWII. Needless to say, she collected lots of British treasures.
There is something for everyone. Great prices...we don't want to keep this any longer. Come by/buy and have a look.
Sale at: Morgan Arts Centre 10-5 each day. Located at 190 Plomondon Rd., just north of Toledo, Washington, 98591. Call (360)864-4278 or email Di, email@example.com.
From the School Garden Initiative, Brooke Acosta says:
We are celebrating the garden with students next Thursday and Friday and would like to set up a produce stand. Unfortunately, we don't have enough in our garden for 300 students.
Can you send out a community request for home garden produce anyone is willing to share? You can point them to me by email, firstname.lastname@example.org or phone (360)219-6161.
