Said Carolan: The membership voted to include (The Wall) although it wasn’t a burial ground because of the existing memorial for Mel Holland, a Toledo alumnus and veteran who went missing in action in Laos in 1968. Carolan added she was on hand when that monument was installed, and when the Wall of Honor went up.
On behalf of those who participated yesterday, she thanked all who convened to pay tribute to their loved ones including the POW-MIA. Thanks went out also to Fir Lawn for providing refreshments afterwards to the volunteers and retired service men and women.

Tech Tuesday: Windows 10 April Update Alert
Installing the Windows 10 April 2018 Update could wipe your entire desktop, according to Tech Republic in this article last week: User forums have been flooded with calls for help after recently updated PCs are rendered useless… With the help of Durham-based repair shop Computer Cellar, The Register traced the problem back to Avast Antivirus and a specific line of code contributing to the problem.
If you use Avast AV, you’re going to want to read the complete article including links and save your life - virtually speaking.
What's the Deal With GDPR and Your Online Privacy? In case you’ve been on a mountaintop searching for enlightenment, or in a cave with no WiFi, you’ve no doubt been hearing a lot about this topic. Lifehacker explains:
So what is it? General Data Protection Regulation is a new set of rules and regulations for how internet companies should behave in Europe. It focuses mainly on data and privacy protection. The law became official in 2016 with a two-year period for companies to comply. Now, as of Friday, May 25, that deadline has arrived.
Fear not, more than half of all companies affected by by this decree are still working to implement it.
Thanks to loyal readers for your patience while The Other Toledo undergoes changes necessary to keep delivering daily news and events to your inbox. Friday’s Column ...was delivered Monday.
A huge shout out to those who post updates and great photos and personal stories to share with their neighbors through these Columns. You make The Other Toledo
