USDA: May 28, 2019 - Richwell Group, Inc. Recalls Siluriformes Products Produced Without Benefit of Import Inspection
Richwell Group, Inc., doing business as Maxfield Seafood, a City of Industry, Calif. firm and the importer of record, is recalling approximately 154,560 pounds of Siluriformes fish products that were not presented for import re-inspection into the United States, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. Additionally, the products were produced at a Vietnamese establishment that was not eligible to export Siluriformes fish to the United States.
The frozen Siluriformes items, specifically Yellow Walking Fish, were imported from Vietnam to the United States on various dates from March 2018 through January 2019. The products have a shelf life of two years.
These items were shipped to retail locations nationwide.
FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

WA State Attorney General Ferguson: AG Challenges Conscience Rule
AG Ferguson challenges Trump’s “conscience rule” for health care providers
May 28 2019 - Attorney General Bob Ferguson today filed a lawsuit challenging the Trump Administration’s “conscience rule,” which gives health care professionals broad discretion to refuse lawful and medically necessary care to patients for religious or moral reasons, even when the patient’s life is at risk.
The rule provides no information on how the federal government will determine the rule has been violated. It does, however, note that if any recipient of federal health care funding passed through by the state, such as a Title X clinic, is found to have violated the rule, the state is responsible.
