Soon, says Steam Boat Plaza’s new owners. It’ll be a race to see if the espresso window opens before the hair and nail salon. Which reminds me…

Since I enjoyed some of the paved walking trails on Mt St Helens last Friday, passing and amazing The Otter, this explicit view of the crater from NASA Astronaut Jeff Williams struck a chord. Facebook link here. Perhaps I’ll favor my last remaining Uncle Bill, mountain climber from the 50’s and 60’s and Korean War vet, with that trip to Johnston Ridge he’s been yearning for...

On that note: thanks to all those who noticed the difference and commented favorably on my miraculous turnaround following a life-threatening breathless episode in early April, an incredible trip to the ER, then a quick return to near-normal breathing after visiting Doc Williams mobile clinic on Highway 12 (link here) a few days later.

The website is asthmastory.com, and it worked for me until environmental factors tipped the scales. If you find asthmastory[dot]com incredible, wait until you hear how an auto exhaust specialist in Napavine uncovered the last mystery which reversed his 90-year-old mother’s cycle of pneumonia and COPD. (Hint: de-humidifier).

Special thanks to my friend Deb, a miracle in her own right who recovered from a lifetime of unending agony and escaped a wheelchair future by sharing - living - her tiny flame of hope. Hers was the voice I heard that unforgettable night I had given up.

Thanks also to Commissioner Edna Fund for her efforts to bring Text-To-911 to Lewis County. It cannot happen soon enough.

The Common Ground Garden Community got so much done today. Planters on both sides of the Cowlitz Street received a plant makeover. The four planters along the businesses, Royce's and the new Steam Boat Plaza, have fresh plants and flowers. Our crew didn't stop there. We moved across to the Gospodor Eagle Plaza and planted the four containers in a meadowy mix of perennials. More flowers date destined to start popping up around Toledo. Friday's is going to be a wet day, but come out prepared to start planting the red and white geraniums donated by Tsugawa Nursery. We will meet at10am in front of the Gospodor Eagle.
