Congrats to Toledo’s Norm Baird for turning the tables on diabetes. Vision:Toledo links to TDN’s article of June 22 on Facebook.
Saturday’s I(Heart)Logan spaghetti dinner & silent auction was pronounced a success by all accounts.
He spent 10 days at Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in April when the prescribed treatment stopped working, and was informed a heart transplant would be likely if/when medications cease working, and genetic testing was recommended for his family to determine if they carry the gene causing this disorder.
Currently Logan is seen in Tacoma every 2 weeks to monitor any changes, while adhering to a restricted diet and refraining from the sports he wanted to enjoy. Ongoing costs are defrayed by generous donations of change for gas at the Flying K, and a fund set up at Timberland Bank.
Family and friends thanked everyone for their support.
