For the sixth year, Gallery 505 Artist Co-op celebrates Toledo Makers and the things they make with a show we call "TOLEDO MADE".
Gallery 505 is filled with one-of-a-kind handmade arts and crafts made by over two dozen people who call Toledo their home.  This year's show starts at 1 pm Thursday, June 27 and will run Wednesdays through Saturdays until August 3. Hours 1 - 6 pm.
No admission is charged.
Come see what Toledo is made of.
Curtis Johnson is a Classically trained musician specialized in Romantic/ Spanish guitar, and Classical guitar.

I have been playing classical guitar for 13 years, and have preformed for a variety of events. I have performed two solo recitals, and played numerous cafe, and wine tasting gigs. I enjoy playing for weddings, and have done several in the recent years. This page is my way of introducing myself to the area. I am hoping to be playing many gigs here soon!

Most recently, I played at Arts On The Mountain.

Lewis County Water Alliance attracted 200 people to Randle, WA to address a move by foreign-owned Crystal Geyser to establish a bottling plant on the Cowlitz River just outside town.

See 80+ evocative photos at this link.*

I made a small contribution to this cause; we all live downstream. If you would like to join me in supporting this mission to Keep Crystal Geyser off the Cowlitz, click on this link.

Story: The Lewis County Water Alliance is a citizens group in Randle, WA fighting to keep Crystal Geyser from bottling and exporting our water. Our goal is to protect our water and environment for our families, our farms, our fish, and our future.

It is going to take some Big Change in order to keep Big Water corporations out of the Big Bottom and out of Washington State. Your donation will be used 100% towards these goals.

FDA: Recalls, Market Withdrawals & Safety Alerts

FDA Drug Safety & Availability: FDA's Assessment of Currently Marketed ARB Drug Products

FDA has worked with manufacturers to swiftly remove angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) drug products with impurity levels above interim acceptable limits. Those products have been removed from the market and have been posted in our recall lists for ARB products. The information below reflects the status of FDA’s assessment for other ARB drug products that are currently on the market. The assessment is based on the particular batches/lots of drugs tested by FDA, information provided by applicants and active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) suppliers, and other information available to the agency. In general, FDA’s testing of ARBs focused on analyzing API and the highest dosage strength available from firms making drug products for the U.S. market. FDA will update this list as more information becomes available.

In the overall nitrosamine determination column, an indication of “not present” means that FDA has completed the comprehensive assessment noted above. An indication of “TBD” means that one or more parts of our assessment remain incomplete and the product remains acceptable for distribution and for patient use. For the entries denoted with “TBD*,” certain lots of the product did have impurity levels above interim acceptable limits, however they have already been removed from the market. FDA is prioritizing the assessments by those of highest patient need and in response to credible information about nitrosamine contamination.

FDA Investigation into Potential Link between Certain Diets and Canine Dilated Cardiomyopathy

June 27, 2019
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today is providing an update on its investigation into reports of dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) in dogs eating certain pet foods containing a high proportion of peas, lentils, other legume seeds (pulses), and/or potatoes in various forms (whole, flour, protein, etc.) as main ingredients (listed within the first 10 ingredients in the ingredient list, before vitamins and minerals). This update covers reports of DCM received by the FDA through April 30, 2019 and, for the first time, includes pet food brands most frequently named in DCM reports to the FDA. The agency is also posting a spreadsheet of DCM reports relevant to the investigation received through April 30, 2019. All the reports included a diagnosis of DCM.

The FDA first alerted the public about this investigation in July 2018 and provided an update in February 2019. Since then, the FDA’s Center for Veterinary Medicine (CVM) has been collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders to evaluate information about the DCM cases and the diets of those pets.

To date, the FDA has not established why certain diets may be associated with the development of DCM in some dogs…

CBS Minnesota added: The FDA also identified one of the most-named brands connected with dilated cardiomyopathy: Minnesota’s NutriSource, with at least 10 cases. That was one of the brands that Cordero covered in her initial WCCO report. We reached out to NutriSource for comment on the new report, and have not received a response as of Thursday evening.

Other brands had as many as 50 or 60 reports of the illness. University of Minnesota Veterinary nutritionist Dr. Julie Churchill believes there is no benefit to feeding your dog any brand of grain-free food.

“My take away is don’t look at that list and just say, ‘My dog is not eating that brand.’ Remember that those are only the brands that have been reported,” Churchill said.

Governor Jay Inslee: Inslee Statement on Supreme Court Census Ruling

Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife Police reported:

WDFW Officer Corey was patrolling the South Fork Toutle River on a Sunday morning, where he observed several people walking down to the river. The men were trying to figure out how to get their truck which was fully loaded with cedar bolts out of the river.
Picture
Officer Corey contacted and identified the two suspects. After several back and forth stories one subject admitted to cutting the bolts on Weyerhaeuser property. After cutting the bolts he attempted to ford the river but the weight of the wood was too much and the truck became stuck. Perhaps if he had played the Oregon Trail Game he would have thought twice about fording the river with too much weight.

The suspect had been previously trespassed from Weyerhaeuser property. He was booked into Cowlitz County jail for trespass and theft 2nd degree.
