US National Weather Service Portland Oregon shared a poignant video that gets the message across quite clearly while still being G-Rated, saying: It doesn't take long for a car to heat up. Even if you're just running inside for a "quick second," don't leave children or pets in the car on a warm day.  Link here.

Keeping Your Cool:

Gallery 505 kicks off their July exhibit: TOLEDO MADE Friday 4 - 8 PM. These open house events are not to be missed. (And it’s nice & cool inside!)

Toledo Senior Center has air conditioning and a more modest selection of paperbacks. Regular hours 9 AM - 3 PM Friday.
Open 7 AM Saturday for breakfast, then again after the parade for light refreshments.
Don’t forget to check out the Silent Auction while you’re there. One of the items is a cooling tower fan!
Toledo Community Library offers relief from soaring temps plus your next favorite read and a great kids section. Hosting one of their locally famous Book & Bake Sales Saturday. Best selection for early shoppers. Open 10 AM - 5 PM.

Toledo Thursday Market recap: River House Bakeshop hosted their grand business opening at our Cheese Days Market, and Proprietor Carol Berch quickly sold most most of her wares. She plans to return weekly and expand her initial selection. Drop a note on her Facebook page if you have a special request, or email her: riverhousebakeshop@gmail.com.
Jesse Swofford of Swofford Family Farms also plans to return regularly with their specialty produce raised using organic practices. On display were Hakurei turnips (including links to recipes for glazed & sauteed dishes), two varieties of radishes (did you know the leaves can be added to soups or as a side?), plus several other fresh-picks unique veggies. Visit https://swofford.farm/  or email veg@swofford.farm. Also on Facebook.
Join us at the Toledo Thursday Market as we celebrate the beginning of Cheese Days! Food, produce, baked goods, chocolate, bath products, jewelry, baskets and more all Handmade & Homegrown in the Toledo area!
More handmade & homegrown goodness every Thursday 3 - 7 PM.
