Lewis County Water Alliance Update: LCWA Call for ACTION!
We need to show up in FULL FORCE (Monday). Prepare your statements for the 3 min public comment period.
I have something prepared, but I cannot attend. So, I’m looking for a volunteer to read on my behalf.

I’m also thinking that someone should read the majority, if not ALL of Oldskool Hale’s article: https://www.linkedin.com/…/corporate-water-mining-effects-l…
Remember, we’re planning to utilize the public comment period to address the email from Page, and the threat to our community. As well as keeping the ball moving on the county’s role in protesting the water right and the amendment of the LCC

*LCWA Updated several times daily. The Other Toledo is committed to supporting our upriver neighbors in their challenge to preserve this precious natural resource. After all, we all live downstream.

*Special thanks to Deanna Busdieker, who condensed posts & threads into  a shared folder: Link here.

July 11, 2019 - Out of an abundance of caution, DaVinci Laboratories, a division of FoodScience Corporation of Williston, Vermont has contacted FDA and is voluntarily recalling 256 bottles of Omega-3 1000 that may be labeled as Dim Plex. A small number of bottles may contain undeclared fish (anchovy & sardines) allergen. FDA: FDA Approves ProHeart 12 (moxidectin) for Prevention of Heartworm Disease in Dogs

July 2, 2019 - The U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Veterinary Medicine announced today the approval of ProHeart 12 (moxidectin) extended-release injectable suspension for dogs 12 months of age and older for the prevention of heartworm disease caused by Dirofilaria immitis for 12 months. ProHeart 12 is also approved for the treatment of existing larval and adult hookworm infections.

Heartworm disease is a serious disease that results in severe lung disease, heart failure, other organ damage, and death in pets, mainly dogs, cats, and ferrets. It is caused by a parasitic roundworm called Dirofilaria immitis. The worms are spread through the bite of a mosquito.  While living inside a dog, the worms mature into adults, mate, and produce offspring. The worms are called “heartworms” because the adults live in the heart, lungs, and associated blood vessels of an infected animal.

ProHeart 6 was approved in 2001, then voluntarily removed from the market in 2004 after reports of adverse events, including death, anaphylaxis, seizures, elevated liver enzymes, and immune-related blood problems.

WA State Insurance Commission: Surprise Medical Billing
New law takes effect Jan. 1, 2020

The new surprise billing law (www.leg.wa.gov) prevents people from getting a surprise medical bill when they receive emergency care from a hospital or get care at an in-network facility but are treated by an out-of-network provider. If an insurer and provider cannot agree on a price for the covered services, they can go to binding arbitration but they cannot bill the consumer for the amount in dispute.

Guest Post: Cara Buswell - Living In a Small Town Is My Kind Of Pace These Days

July 4, 2019 - This morning I walked into the Red Apple looking like Ted Kaczynski. In pajamas, sunglasses, hood up w crazy hair I walk straight to the coffee and notice there's like 5 ppl in line at checkout staring at me.

"Yeah I just woke up" I belt out all gravelly voiced-
I hear a "Good morning Cara" from a friend in the Bread aisle.

I grab my coffee and proceed to shop and visit with the various folks in the store including the town mayor for a good 20 minutes lol.

I get home and realize I forgot why I came to the store in the first place… Lemons.
None of the stuff I got makes any sense but at least I got some coffee and a few nice visits out of it.

Living in a small town is my kind of pace these days.

*Thanks to Cara Buswell for permission to share this post on small town living.
