Returning from Winlock Monday before noon with Alex Luna Ortiz, we noticed Mt St Helens was visible behind a pall, Mt Rainier entirely invisible. No wonder we’re all gasping for air.

An Excessive Heat Warning has been issued for the North Willamette Valley and Columbia River Gorge for 2 PM Tuesday to 11 PM Thursday. Daytime highs will reach 98 to 103 degrees between 3 and 6 PM daily.
A Heat Advisory has been issued for the South Willamette Valley, Cascade Foothills and interior portion of southwest Washington. Maximum temperatures here will reach 92 to 97 degrees daily.

Common Ground Toledo joins City of Toledo on Monday evenings making the round to deliver water to thirsty planters and garden spots around town.
Opening available for 2 volunteers to cover Thursday or Friday watering needs during high heat. Apply at City Hall during business hours.
