Be smart fellers, not the other way ‘round.
US National Weather Service Portland Oregon posted:
Oregon DEQ & SWCAA have issued an Air Quality Alert until 12pm Wed.
...SMOKE FROM SURROUNDING WILDFIRES MAY RESULT IN POOR AIR QUALITY ...INTO WEDNESDAY MORNING...
Children, the elderly, and individuals with respiratory illnesses are most at risk of serious health effects. These groups should limit or avoid spending time outdoors.

*Note - sources report sport coaches will postpone or suspend practice if conditions, including air quality, are deemed too dangerous for the athletes. As customary, team members with health issues worsened by conditions are always welcome to support their teammates from the sidelines.
Practices begin this week and next before school starts on August 29.
Lewis County Sheriff’s Office posted:
WSU Lewis County Master Gardeners reminded: Earlier this week, a press release went out from OSU, reminding people that using gasoline against yellowjacket nests (as bad as the yellowjackets might be) is illegal and hazardous.
Just in case you're not yet convinced… try something a bit less “scorched earth” please…
