(Police Officer) Randy Pennington reported: Highway Fatality Leaves Lingering Regrets
So 10 minutes after my shift starts last night, (I) pick up a new rookie at the Police Department to give a little FTO ride along. Then within a few minutes while traveling down one of our rural highways, (we were) involved in one of the most distressing type of vehicle collisions imaginable… No physical damage to my patrol car, but left both the rookie and me gasping for breath, a fatality of the most sickening type… So gross I could not even stop to see if we could render aid or assistance.
My vehicle is a take-home and I park it in my garage normally; last night when I got off work, I parked it outside, away from my garage in my field and quickly walked away, actually ran away not even looking back, trying to forget the collision and the horrible aftermath....
This morning walked out, took one look at the car and it all came back, the events of the collision…
Now I have seen just about anything imaginable in collisions, having been a paramedic for 4 decades and a cop for 35+years. But (this is the) first time (I’ve) actually been so nauseated, to the point of blurred vision, difficulty breathing and nearly puked.. I believe the victim knew I could not avoid the collision, (that) I tried to swerve, tried to brake. The victim knew I was gonna hit him so in total defiance he turned his back to me and raised his tail as if giving me the big “F you” and sprayed the whole front of my car just before I missed him with both front tires and ran over him with the left rear tire.
Mr. Skunk, I salute your last act of defiance, you left an absolute impression on my car, my rookie and me as well!!!
Mr.Skunk, you epitomize the “never give in” and “fight to the end” and let your opponent know you will leave a lasting impression.
Randy Pennington, Sgt

FDA: Vaping Illnesses: Consumers can Help Protect Themselves by Avoiding Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)-Containing Vaping Products
The FDA is providing consumers information to help protect themselves while health officials investigate recent illnesses following the use of vaping products.
Excerpt: In particular, many of the samples tested by the states or by the FDA as part of this ongoing investigation have been identified as vaping products containing tetrahydrocannabinol (or THC, a psychoactive component of the marijuana plant) and further, most of those samples with THC tested also contained significant amounts of Vitamin E acetate. Vitamin E acetate is a substance present in topical consumer products or dietary supplements, but data are limited about its effects after inhalation.
While the FDA does not have enough data presently to conclude that Vitamin E acetate is the cause of the lung injury in these cases, the agency believes it is prudent to avoid inhaling this substance.
FDA Advises Consumers to Stop Using Certain Cosmetic Products

Beauty Plus Global Inc. Beauty Plus Global Inc. City Color Shimmer Bronzer (Caramel), SKU #849136017106, Lot No. 1612112/PD-840

FTC: FTC Obtains Preliminary Injunction Halting Online Beauty Product Sellers’ Deceptive “Free Trial” Offers
Agency alleges AH Media Group defrauded consumers nationwide out of over $35 million
The operators of a deceptive negative option scheme have agreed to a court-ordered preliminary injunction temporarily barring them from a wide range of conduct. The preliminary injunction stops the defendants from misleading consumers about supposedly “free trial” offers, enrolling them in unwanted continuity plans, billing them without their authorization, and making it nearly impossible for them to cancel or get their money back.
The agency alleges the defendants defrauded consumers nationwide out of more than $35 million through illegal credit and debit card charges.
FTC Gives Final Approval to Settlement with Auto Dealer Software Company That Allegedly Failed to Protect Consumers’ Data
Following a public comment period, the Federal Trade Commission approved a final order settling charges against an Iowa-based auto dealer software provider that allegedly failed to take reasonable steps to secure consumers’ data, leading to a breach that exposed the personal information of millions of consumers.
In its complaint, the FTC alleged that LightYear Dealer Technologies, LLC, which does business as DealerBuilt, failed to implement readily available and low-cost measures to protect the personal information it obtained from its auto dealer clients. The FTC alleges these failures led to a breach of DealerBuilt’s backup database beginning in late October 2016, when a hacker gained access to the unencrypted personal information—such as Social Security numbers and other sensitive data—of about 12.5 million consumers stored by 130 DealerBuilt customers.
J H Fingerhut wrote the FDA about her horse undergoing a critical vaccine reaction:
Bismarck Interagro has been critically ill for 8 weeks, as a result of IMRAB rabies vaccine, manufactured by Merial-Boehringer Ingelheim. A HEALTHY horse received this LONE vaccine and within a couple of hours was in distress. He was treated by the administering vet and then taken to the well-renowned Peterson & Smith Equine Clinic. He received emergency, lifesaving treatment and was placed in ice boots immediately to help prevent laminitis, but succumbed approximately 48 hours later and then developed founder. He is fighting for his life. This was appropriately reported to the Drug Reaction Department of the manufacturer, to the FDA and a letter sent to the legal department by an attorney requesting settlement for his continued care. We are still trying to save him. Merial-Boehringer Ingelheim has NOT responded AT ALL. We as animals lovers (dogs and cats affected as well) need to let them know that we cannot subject our beloved animals to their product. Ask your vet what they are using, DECLINE IMRAB vaccine. Tell them why. Choose a company that cares about the population they serve. It's time for fall shots!! Do NOT use IMRAB vaccine for your horses, dogs, or cats. Veterinarians, tell your REPS about this. PLEASE TELL BISMARCK's STORY!!! SHARE THIS...You never know where it will end up. I can only hope that this will GO VIRAL so that someone takes note. Ask them "What are you doing about this?"
