Lewis County Solid Waste Utility Basic Composting
The WSU Lewis County Master Recycler Composter volunteers invite you to attend a basic composting class. Composting is a little like baking a cake. There are some basic science principles required to successfully create a composting setup that works for you. There will be an opportunity to ask questions about your own composting challenges. Participants who pre-register by 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, will have a free compost bin reserved for them. (One bin per family, please.) To register, call 360-740-1452, or email email@example.com.
When: Tuesday September 11, 2018 from 6 - 8 PM
Where: Chehalis Timberland Library, 400 North Market Street
Did You Know? Although LewCo Solid Waste recycles most plastics, one exception CAN be recycled locally.
MotherNatureNews shares: We're thrilled to announce that Ziploc® Brand Bags are recyclable. Simply visit just about any store* that offers a plastic-bag recycling program and place your used Ziploc® Bags (clean and dry) in the same bins as those plastic shopping bags.
*Earth911.com says: All the national grocery retailers (such as Kroger, Safeway, Target and Walmart) and many smaller retailers offer bag recycling collections in their stores. The bins are usually located near the front entrance. ... Believe it or not, black plastic bags are harder to recycle and sometimes omitted from store collection bins.
Citizens for Great Toledo Schools reminder:
Our next Bond meeting is 5 pm Tuesday, September 11th at ToledoTel - 183 Plomondon Rd.
Please pass the word. We'll need as much help as we can get as we are only 8 weeks from election day! If you care to see it pass, we could use your help.
