Toledo School District posts this link about absences, saying: Health issues are one of the main causes of absences. Asthma is just one of those health issues. An excused absence is still an absence. Absences add up and subtract from learning.

9/11 Anniversary: Everyday Heroes
Friday I asked readers to submit their choice(s) of people who make a noteworthy difference in the community, and in the lives of their neighbors.
Drum roll, please...
Thanks to one loyal reader for naming names, saying: I'd like to nominate the following people:
- Mike and Di Morgan
- Bill and Pat Caldwell
- Joh Jones
- Diana Haug
- The Mighty Fine Seniors
- The Food Bank volunteers
- Jamie Cummings
- Gary Whiteside
- Linda Bird-Sonne
- Michelle Whitten
...adding: They have all done so much for the town and its citizens.
*This reader modestly declined to outline their own contributions in Toledo, thought they are well-known and active in community service.
Who would your candidate(s) be?
How do you feel they ought to be recognised?
Should Everyday Heroes be an annual day to honor the heroes in Toledo?
Your ideas welcome.
