Today’s Oregon Trail Marker Rededication Ceremony has garnered far more attention than Olympia’s Sacajawea Chapter of the Daughters of the American (DAR) envisioned when a small contingent arrived to restore the monument in August.

VIP’s from all over plan to be on hand for this event, 100 years after Ezra Meeker retraced the original route with oxen. Toledo is home to one of ten such markers between Tumwater and Vancouver, WA.

Fifth Street will be closed to vehicle traffic between Silver Street and SR 505 to accommodate pedestrians. Contact City of Toledo, (360)864-4564 for more info.
