FDA: NEWS RELEASE - FDA and DEA warn website operators illegally selling opioids
First-of-its-kind joint warning letters target 10 websites
September 30, 2019 - The U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration have issued joint warning letters to four online networks, operating a total of 10 websites, illegally marketing unapproved and misbranded versions of opioid medicines, including tramadol, that are potentially dangerous…
The illegal sale of these opioids is particularly concerning because the FDA-approved tramadol carries a boxed warning, the agency’s most prominent warning, indicating that the drug carries a significant risk of serious or even life-threatening side effects. The boxed warning for tramadol addresses risks including addiction, abuse, misuse, life-threatening respiratory depression (breathing problems) and neonatal opioid withdrawal syndrome (withdrawal symptoms in newborn babies)...

groovyPost.com: How to Erase Your Data and Sell Your Old iPad
Before buying Apple’s latest and greatest iPad, it’s worth checking to see what you can get for your old. Here’s how to get your old iPad ready for sale and how to sell it.
September 29, 2019 - Before handing off your tablet to someone else, there are a few things you should do first. These include eliminating your personal information and removing the SIM card, when applicable.
To sell your iPad, we recommend sticking with companies like Gazelle, Swappa, eBay, Amazon, and yes, Apple. These companies will typically offer the most for your tablet, although it varies, depending on your model.

Plus One More: How to Free Up Storage on Your Apple Watch
The Apple Watch has a limited amount of storage space. If you find that your wearable is running out of space here is a look at how to get rid of items and free up room for more.
September 25, 2019 - Apple’s doing a better job of adding more storage space to Apple Watch. Despite this, you might still come to the point when freeing up storage on your wearable device is necessary.
Because the storage capacity on Apple Watch is mostly confined to music and photos, it doesn’t make sense to delete apps on the wearable device solely to save space. The apps themselves don’t take up much space. Instead, let’s concentrate on music and photos.

engadget.com: iPhone exploit could allow permanent jailbreak for millions of devices
Fortunately, it requires physical access to the phone.
September 27, 2019 - Jailbreaks seemed to be a thing of the past, but last month, a security research released the first free, public iPhone jailbreak in years. Now, another security researcher has discovered an exploit that could make it possible to permanently jailbreak any iPhone from the 2011 4S to the 2017 iPhone X and 8/Plus.
Twitter user axi0mX revealed the bootrom exploit, dubbed checkm8, that makes it possible to jailbreak the devices. As The Verge explains, bootrom exploits take advantage of a vulnerability in the initial code that iOS devices load when they boot up. Because it's read-only memory (ROM), Apple can't overwrite or patch it through a software update. In other words, it's permanent.

Plus One More: Even the tech expert from 'Mr. Robot' can’t figure out this iPhone hack
Pickpocket hackers aren’t just phoning it in.
September 30, 2019 - If your dad were the technical advisor for the realistic hacks on Mr. Robot and he lovingly micromanaged your gadgets, you'd probably feel pretty badass about the security of your personal devices. So when one of Marc Rogers' kids had their iPhone pickpocketed at San Francisco Pride this year, things took an unexpected turn when tech-savvy thieves pulled off hacking tricks that had Rogers beside himself with curiosity and fascination. And concern. Lots of concern.
"Since this was my kid we are talking about, the phone was up to date and had a strong password and FaceID enabled, and activation lock was turned on," Rogers told Engadget via email. The teen noticed the phone missing within 10 minutes of its theft and immediately began security protocols. "As soon as the phone was found to be missing it was switched to Lost Mode and later a wipe command was sent to it," he explained.
Since that's exactly what you're supposed to do, that should have been the end of it. A loss to be sure, and a pain to start over with a new iPhone. Except Rogers noticed that neither the Lost Mode activation or wipe command went through, leading him to "believe the phone has been immediately powered down or placed in a bag that blocked signals. That and the fact that it never resurfaced told me that whoever stole it knew what they were doing and had done this before."
(It got worse. Worth your time to read this article.)
