From Farmers Insurance & Financial Services: Congratulations to Onalaska's Mr. Bower for Teacher of the Month for October.#ThankAmericasTeachers
And: Congratulations to Mr. Ryan, Adna's Teacher of the Month for October!!! #ThankAmericasTeachers
You can thank a teacher, vote for a teacher, and educators can submit proposals for educational programs to win grants.
Send a thank you to an exceptional teacher who’s shaped who you are today, or made a difference in your kid’s life. When you do, we’ll give America’s teachers the chance to fund their educational visions. Link here.
Your votes have the power to help us give away over $1 million dollars in educational grants throughout the year. Farmers awards 180 teachers with $2,500 grants and five $100,000 grants annually. Link here.
Farmers invites teachers to submit your proposals for educational programs that better prepare students for the future. Teachers could win a grant of up to $100,000! Link here.
So how come no Toledo educators are posted here? Have you thanked a teacher, or cast your vote for Teacher of the Month? Hmm?
Reminder: No school tomorrow. That means you won’t have a chance to register to vote conveniently at the high school on Friday, and Monday is the cutoff date if you want to make a difference on the November ballot, and the Toledo School Bond Measure.
Deadline for registering to vote in the November Election is October 9, 2017. You can do it online here, or in person at Toledo High School.
Citizens For Great Toledo Schools posted: Voting is a right and privilege!! In a small town every vote matters. Toledo Schools NEED your help! Get registered to vote TODAY. Please vote YES for our kids!

The Lewis County Permaculture Society presents:
Lewis County Food Hub Forum
6 p.m. @ 237 Collins Road, Toledo
Details: We have an exciting opportunity to partner with Olympia in a cooperative usage of online website/software for establishing a Food Hub.
This would allow Lewis County residents two opportunities...
1. Access to locally sourced food from farmers that you can get to know.
2. The ability to sell your products to a larger local market.
This is a BIG step for Lewis County and an important one. We strongly encourage ANYONE seeking to produce/sell products and anyone eager to help strengthen our local community and support local farmers/producers to come and be a part of this informative and groundbreaking meeting.
southsoundfresh.localfoodmarketplace.com would be where we would list our product, (whether) that's a dozen eggs or 500 lbs of potatoes... if you only have something to sell once a year or are a regular producer... this will give you a place to market, anytime of year.
This will be a Pilot Group program to grow interest in building a larger network of Food Hubs. We have to start somewhere.
There will be another meeting October 9th with Treacy Kreger from Olympia and Lizzie Barnts about establishing this pilot!!!

- If you have a DSHS Provider1 ID card (Medicaid) for health care and need help getting to your appointments, you may already know you can apply for Paratransit Services. But did you know that fuel or mileage reimbursement is available for trips to clinics and other health care related travel? This stipend offsets the costs, though it doesn’t cover all. Still, it’s worth your while to find out if you could be getting some of your money back, right?
