Annie Jones reported: Wood Sorrel Forest School
Generally speaking, children don’t have to be made to study - it is the most natural thing in the world for them to do! But with an outdated, overwhelmed system and a militant mindset (and usually good intentions) we train them to find study boring; a chore to be avoided or rushed through and checked off the list, or at best, for a few “lucky ones”, worn and flaunted like a medal. Let’s change that. The first step is to observe - remember how to “study” - notice what the children run to, what they willingly and eagerly work for, what captures their interest, what holds their gaze, what distracts them, what delights them, what inspires questions and wonder... life holds enough darkness and drudgery already, let’s reclaim learning as fun!

Along with the rain and a bit of mountain snow, we'll see some breezy winds Monday! Strongest near the water.

FTC: FTC Acts Against Company Using Celebrity Endorsements, Bogus Earnings Claims to Sell Real Estate Seminars
Federal Court issues temporary order against Zurixx, LLC and its executives

October 4, 2019 - The complaint filed by FTC and DCP alleges that Zurixx’s free event is in fact a sales presentation for its three-day workshops that cost $1,997. Zurixx presenters have told free event attendees that the three-day workshop would teach them everything they need to know to make substantial income from real estate. Presenters at the three-day workshop, however, have often described it as merely a “beginner” course, while upselling consumers additional products and services that can cost as much as $41,297.

USDA: This October, USDA wants to wish every American a happy #F2SMonth!
Picture
Farm to School’s healthy benefits are well known to our nation’s teachers, students and their parents or guardians. The behaviors children and kids form through these programs offer a strong nutritional foundation, while building a connection for those who care for our land. Farm to School also introduces our nation’s students to agricultural career paths. As more and more of America’s farmers retire, our nation’s food supply depends on young people entering the #agriculture field. #Farmtoschool fills that void, by inspiring young people to consider #jobs in agriculture and food systems. Educational activities built into #F2S programs strengthen children’s understanding of agricultural practices and promote exposure to career opportunities in agriculture, #nutrition and other #STEM -related subjects.
