WDFW: Washington Game Wardens Work Through Night To Save Bull Elk
NW Sportsman Mag reported:

WDFW OFFICER BLAKE TUCKER TENDS TO A BULL ELK THAT GOT ENTANGLED IN FENCING, THEN WENT INTO HEAVY SEDATION AND REQUIRED PROPPING UP TO KEEP BREATHING. (WDFW)

It all started Saturday afternoon when Sgt. Danyl Klump got a text from a Wenatchee-area landowner that a bull had wrapped itself in barbed wire up in the Stemilt Basin, so he tasked Officers Blake Tucker and Will Smith, who had been on duty since that morning, with freeing the animal.

WSDOT reminder:
This is National Traffic Incident Response Awareness Week. We all know to move over for flashing lights on the highway, but did you know you're also supposed to move over whenever possible for flashing lights on the side of the road, including our Incident Response Team, tow trucks and any other emergency responders? Help keep them safe, so they can help keep all of us safe. https://wsdotblog.blogspot.com/…/move-over-or-slow-down-for…

Not Strictly Toledo: Youth in Beekeeping Scholarship Application Deadline
To foster a lifelong love of beekeeping and to train the next generation of Lewis County beekeepers, the Lewis County Beekeepers Association will provide bees, supplies, and educational opportunities up to the value of $500 each to 2 to 3 Lewis County applicants who meet the criteria of age, interest, eligible school district, and ability to participate in an 18 month LCBA educational and mentorship program in beekeeping. Students who complete program requirements can keep bees & gear. In 2019, LCBA's Youth Scholarship Program will be open to students throughout Lewis County, as well as southern Thurston and northern Cowlitz Counties (depending on availability of mentors). Applicants: 7th - 10th graders in 2019; home-schooled students are welcome to apply. If a younger student with an parent or older sibling willing to help would like to apply, these will be considered on a case by case basis. For more information and 2019 application materials, visit our 2019 applications page: http://www.lewiscountybeekeepers.org/youth_scholarship_program/want_to_apply_2019_lcba_youth_in_beekeeping_scholarship_program_application_forms

Today: It's Turkey Bingo Time at Toledo High School.
One can of food for each card up to four cards. Or $1.00 a card up to 4 cards. Why not bring a bag of food? It all goes to the Toledo Food Bank and helps feed your neighbors in need!

This annual favorite event is probably Toledo Lions Club’s worst-kept secret. Word of mouth has been drawing Bingo players for years. Toledo Lions Club Turkey Bingo will begin 6 p.m. Friday, November 16 at the Toledo High School multipurpose room. Entrance is a $1 donation or a can of food for the Toledo food bank.

This Year: The THS Class of 2021 will be selling concessions at Friday night’s turkey bingo. $5 for a hot dog meal, $2 for a slice of pumpkin pie and $1 for popcorn and drinks.

Op Ed: In some circles November is considered Gratitude Month, sharing is encouraged, and nobody goes hungry. Consider your neighbors during Thanksgiving season, both those seated next to you and others you know only a little who may be struggling this year. Toledo Lions Club strives to set the table for Thanksgiving while bringing fun and entertainment to the community.

In short: Don’t hoard turkeys. Play nice & share. Once you’ve won your prize, relax and watch. Better yet, pass it along to a worthy recipient or cause. That way, everyone wins.
