During the busy holiday season, it seems so many worthy causes clamor for our attention.
This one rewards all nominees, and can make a Wish (List) come true.
And it doesn’t cost a cent.
How about making November extra-thankful for your favorite educator?

Toledo School District toasted:
Cowlitz Prairie Academy receives its first Washington School of Distinction award and Toledo Elementary receives its award for the third consecutive year.

This award recognized 90 schools in Washington State who had demonstrated positive growth in student achievement over the past five years. Congratulations to CPA and TES for their excellent work on behalf of students!

Toledo School District’s Supt. Chris Rust reminder:

I was asked to post this to remind taxpayers of the difference between bonds and levies. The recently-passed bond can only be used for one thing: build a new high school. Legally, every cent has to be expended in support of the building of the new high school. No repairs to the old building, no additional supplies, no additional staff or equipment. Levies are for things that the state doesn't provide: athletics, smaller class size, elementary music, additional staff, maintenance and repairs, grounds keeping and more.
…

Lots of work going on behind the scenes to build the new Toledo High School. We've started a blog to keep you updated on what's going on. You'll find more detailed information in the blog while announcements of meetings and highlights will continue to be shared here on Facebook and on our website. https://chris-rust.blogspot.com/

Toledo Builds a High School
Information regarding the building of a new high school in Toledo, WA beginning in November, 2018.
...

On that note:
Shout out to our Maintenance Director, Mike Ross. Mike was able to repair the ventilation for the THS locker rooms. After 20 years of being out of service, Mike found the difficulty and created a workaround that will serve until the new high school is completed.
...

More behind-the-scenes accomplishments:

Pleased to report that new Material Safety Data Sheet archives are completed. These document all of the chemicals that are used to clean and disinfect our buildings as well as those products that are used to care for our grounds. Kudos to our maintenance and grounds team.

WA ATG:
  • Press Release: AG Ferguson Files Lawsuit Against Holiday Treasure Chest, Founder  Attorney General Ferguson’s lawsuit asserts that Bergeson has withdrawn more than $280,000 in cash from the charity’s checking account since 2013, but did not keep records about how he used those funds. Ferguson’s lawsuit further asserts that Bergeson used the charity’s account for personal purchases… A subscription to online dating service Match.com was paid for with charity account funds.
