Toledo School District: Winter Weather Alerts
With winter weather upon us, it’s a good time to review where you can look for information about school schedule changes.
We make decisions based on road conditions, whether it will be safe for students to wait outdoors, drive or walk to school. We also consider weather forecasts and if conditions are expected to improve throughout the day. We avoid sending students home mid-day as there's no guarantee that families will be there to receive them.
We have four general "levels" of response to inclement weather:
1. Go to school on schedule for the day. If you hear nothing about a change in schedule, school will convene according to the schedule for the day (regular or ACT).
2. Schools open on schedule with limited bus service. Consult snow routes for your stop.
3. Late start. Typically this is a two-hour event. School begins two-hours later than a regular day. Staff are expected to arrive as close to their regular start time as is safely possible.
4. School cancelled for the day.
We repeat the evaluation of roads and conditions every day that inclement weather is present or predicted and will make a determination as early as possible, with a decision no later than 5:30 a.m. Remember, our school district covers 138 square miles and includes many areas that are more or less affected by snow/ice. Your street may be clear while outlying areas may be iced in. As always, you are the best judge of safety in your neighborhood. Stay safe!

Dancing Moon Yoga posted: Yoga Sessions Expanding In Toledo
Hello, friends! I have a couple of offerings to share with you all:
WOMEN’S GROUP: I am currently facilitating a weekly women’s yoga session in Toledo. Our focus is on feminine embodiment through a sensual fusion of vinyasa and kundalini. Our Friday morning group is currently full, but we are going to be adding a second weekly session! The new group will meet on Tuesday evenings starting in December. Interested? You can sign up for the Tuesday evening session or be added to the waitlist for Friday mornings by sending me a DM. Please feel free to ask me any questions regarding these sessions! I have been pouring my heart and soul into them and I am beyond excited to expand this work and continue sharing it with the amazing women in our community.
GENTLE YOGA: Every Monday and Wednesday morning I offer very gentle yoga at the Cowlitz Tribal Housing facility (aka The Mission or St. Mary’s) out on Jackson Hwy from 10am - 11am. These classes are sponsored by the Cowlitz Tribe and are FREE to the community! The class content has been designed with elders in mind, as this is an elders housing facility. But community members of all ages and backgrounds are welcome! I have had students in this particular class ranging in age from 7 to 92. Please DM me with any questions.
