- Cowlitz, Haida, and Lummi Natives Share Traditional Culture With TMS Visit
- TES PTO Kid’s Garden In Winter
- Weekend Outlook & Beyond
Let me know if you would like one.
Toledo School District shared: Toledo Schools and especially Toledo Middle School thank Cowlitz Head carver Robert Harju, Haida native Rudy Nix, and Lummi native Jennifer Johnson who generously spent their day with our Toledo Middle School students helping them learn some Pacific Northwest native history in Don Schaplow’s PNW History class.
Toledo School District reminder:
Reminder that the TES gym will be closed for annual floor refinishing during the Christmas holiday. TMS and THS gyms will remain in service. Alternating refinishing between summer and winter allows us to always have a gym open for our community while maintaining the floors.
TES PTO Kids Garden update from Brooke Acosta:
Well over 2000 lbs of produce grown in the garden this year. Many pumpkins and winter squash were used to decorate for harvest festival and all went home with families.
Garden is buttoned up for winter, garlic, shallots & fava beans planted, leaves spread on raised beds, cover crop planted in tilled spaces.
Winter projects: build pathways with donated pavers, wood shop class agreed to build six benches for seating
There are still tons of greens in the fall/winter garden beds including kale, collards, chard, bok choy, cilantro, parsley, lettuce and herbs. All wonderful for hearty winter meals and easily hidden in soup.
