The next storm system will barrel into the Northwest into Tuesday morning and push into the northern Rockies by Tuesday night and Wednesday, with the worst of the impacts in the Northwest coming during the day on Tuesday.
Not only will rain soak the Interstate-5 corridor from Seattle to Portland and snow bury the Cascades, but winds may also be strong enough to cause localized tree damage and power outages.
“Wind gusts of 40 mph are likely in the entire I-5 corridor from Portland to Salem and Seattle, with gusts up to 45 mph at the coast,” AccuWeather Meteorologist Dave Houk said.

Clarification: Despite typing January 10, I kept thinking “Monday is the 10th, therefore there’s a community meeting about the New THS & upcoming levy…”
So yes, there IS a community meeting January 10, NOT December 10th. You didn’t miss it. Neither did I.
Toledo School District shared: We've asked our students to draw what they think should be in our new high school. Here are just a few of the early examples of some great work from our elementary students.
These drawings will be shared with the design committee and posted near the job site so that we can all remember why we're doing this.

You Can’t Make This Stuff Up:
Report: Man, woman make 900-mile drive with children in trunk, dogs in back seat
The Casper Star-Tribune reports Circuit Judge Steven Brown sentenced each (adult) to 30 days in jail. Fee is from Peoria, Arizona, and Freudenstein is from Tempe, Arizona.
Sheriff's office officials say a third party told them the children reported riding in the trunk for much of the 900-mile drive while two German shepherds sat in the back seat.
Fee said in court there was not enough room for everyone so the children were relegated to the trunk. Court documents show the children are about 6 and 10 years old.
