National Farmers Union Press Release:
NFU, Broad Coalition Urge Full Funding for Farm and Ranch Stress Assistance Network
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 25, 2019
WASHINGTON – In an effort to improve mental health support for farmers, ranchers and farmworkers, National Farmers Union (NFU) and a broad coalition of leading farm and rural advocacy groups are urging Congress to fully fund the Farm and Ranch Stress Assistance Network (FRSAN) in fiscal year 2020...
The groups noted the current prolonged farm economy downturn is causing even greater stress for farmers and ranchers. “Net farm income in 2018 was nearly 50 percent less than it was in 2013,” they said. “While current projections suggest slight improvements in 2019, a significant rebound could be years away.”

Annie Jones shared:
(Monday) night I got a message from an anonymous community member that there was a meal waiting for the Schey family at Chimis, ready for pick up. This generous act helped to support and encourage a local restaurant (who had experienced a break-in the night before) while caring for the needs of a local family dealing with medical challenges. The family said the meal was just perfect and sent hugs to their “Dinner Angel”!
Thank you local friends for sharing bits of love and care for the Schey family - the meals, cards and help with other little chores that doctors orders prevent Kelly from being able to do. We are a community that takes care of our people - and our people are so worth it!
Added the Schey family: Thank you so much to (Monday) night's dinner angel, and to everyone who has pulled together to help us in all the big and little ways!!!! Our family is truly grateful!!!
Even if you don’t cook, your support can benefit (1) the Schey family, and (2) local small business owners. Oh, and it’s good for your heart.
